Solved: “An error occurred trying to download 'http://github-windows.s3.amazonaws.com/GitHub.application”
Today I was trying to download GitHub Windows Application with “GitHubSetup.exe” but it’s occurred error with the massage below-
“An error occurred trying to download 'http://github-windows.s3.amazonaws.com/GitHub.application'.”I was trying and trying but it always came up with the same error massage. Then I try to download with direct link in Internet Explorer and its works for me. The direct link is –
http://github-windows.s3.amazonaws.com/GitHub.application
If you are in this same problem, you can try to open the link in Internet Explorer directly. Hopefully it will help you to start download and Installing Github for windows.
We would like to hear from you, is that worked for you? Or have you a better idea?

DeleteFor all those who are behind proxy server:
ReplyDelete1. first disable proxy settings from internet explorer
2. then launch proxifier (having proxy settings)
3. open http://github-windows.s3.amazonaws.com/GitHub.application in IE

Deletehad the same problem, and indeed, the link does not work when opening it with Firefox, but when opening it with IE, it does
